What are the AS series of standards and why are they important?

The AS series of standards are the quality management systems standards applicable to companies that supply to the aviation, space and defense industries. These standards incorporate all of ISO 9001 but include additional industry requirements specific to the aerospace industry. It will come as no surprise that the aviation industry demands quality at every stage due to the need to be fully compliant with all necessary safety and technical requirements.

There are 4 AS standards which companies can be certified against depending on the area of the industry in which they work.

Last year, Tencell was assessed by the NQA and certified with AS9120B/EN9100:2015 which is the standard for stockists and distributors of parts to manufacturers that supply the aerospace industry.
